2017 Service Dog of the Year
Atlas the Wonderdog is a working service dog to his disabled veteran handler Kenny Bass, and the COO (Chief Canine Officer) at The Battle Buddy Foundation. Kenny is a Marine infantryman who served on active duty from 2000-2004, and was hit by an IED during the Iraqi invasion in 2003. Kenny currently serves as the Executive Director and is a Cofounder of The Battle Buddy Foundation.
Atlas and Kenny spend most of their time traveling the country together working to educate others about the issues surrounding service dogs, the veteran suicide epidemic, Post Traumatic Stress, and Traumatic Brain Injuries.
Usually this is accomplished through public speaking opportunities and intimate group settings.
